60% of Marketers & SMBs Forgot to Do This Important SEO Thing January 1st
Happy Wednesday, Marketers!
As you know, every week we come to you with a tip on how you can improve your odds of Google ranking you higher in search results, specifically focusing on your Google Business Profile.
This week, we're going to focus on something a little different: your website footer. The reason we're doing this is because Google gets a holistic view of your business. If you want to rank your Google Business Profile higher on Google Maps, you need Google to trust your business fully, which means making sure all of your information is up to date.
One thing you probably forgot to change (but Google will surely notice) is the copyright year at the bottom of your website. If you're on top of it, maybe it's already updated to 2025. But, if you're like most people, it’s still saying 2024—or worse, 2004!
Either way, here's a friendly reminder to go edit your website footer to show 2025 as the copyright year. This shows Google that you're maintaining your information online so they can trust you more and show you to more potential customers.
