Is Your GMB Optimized For This New Update?

Google recently rolled out a new feature that makes reviews and photos even more valuable for your business. Now, when users scroll through photos on a Google Business Profile, reviews and menu descriptions appear beneath those images.

This means that reviews—especially those rich with details and keywords—are more visible than ever, directly tied to the photos customers are browsing. We’ve already been hammering reviews and images into everyone’s head recently, but this update takes it a step further when it comes to your profile optimization and rankings.

How to Optimize Your GMB for this Latest Update:

1. Upload Tons of Images: Add as many images of your products or services as possible to your profile. This will show Google your business is up to date and accurately represents the experience a user will have with your business, which Google loves.

2. Get Keywords in Your Reviews: Keywords are super powerful when it comes to reviews. Your business can rank in the top 3 for a keyword they otherwise wouldn’t have because of a review that mentions it. Encourage customers to mention key services & products in their reviews! (Keep reading for info on how to do this better!)

3. Update Services and Menus: Make sure you’ve added every service or menu item (if applicable). Google will be able to use that info beneath your images for a better user experience.

The importance of reviews and images is being highlighted by Google once again, so no, we won’t shut up about it since we really want you to win online. Make sure you’re getting keyword-optimized reviews and uploading your photos to your GMB regularly.
