A few months ago we wrote about how Google now offers a platform where small business owners can pay to speak with Google-employeed small business product experts to learn best practices. Well, we put our money where our mouth is and signed up for one of their calls so we could share their feedback with you. Here's what they had to say about how you can rank higher on Google Maps:
Consistently post an update with an image on your GBP once per week.
Get reviews regularly. Reviews with images/videos and long comments have more weight and will help you more than reviews with only star ratings.
Upload at least one new image from your business to the media section of your GBP every few weeks.
Optimize your GBP initially with a great SEO-written business description, a complete list of services/products, attributes, descriptions for everything, and a few Q&As to start.
